Couples have options
-
They can:
- Get married or enter into a legally registered partnership (legal contract).
- Live together without marriage or a legal contract.
When you enter a legally registered partnership, you sign a contract. You can also sign a standard contract or have a personal contract prepared by a notary. The rights and obligations are different to those of a marriage contract.
Some couples have a relationship, but they do not live together. This kind of relationship is called 'living apart together'.
